I really liked the photos I took of my friends Tamsin and Becky during our studio session. I wanted them to enjoy the space and they did so I wanted to show the energy, attitude and movement in one image.
I used ‘blending’ in the layer styles with the ‘darken’ effect. The image opacity varying from 59-65% for the secondary photos. I placed their most static pose in the centre of the composition to show their more natural side. Their more flamboyant poses were used to frame the centre image with a flourish of personality and energy.
Here is what I created with my favourite photos of Becky:
This piece really shows the movement of the ‘dance’ during Becky’s time in front of the camera. I like the effect the blending has done to the image, almost making appear like an optical illusion especially looking at the legs. This effect brings movement and energy to the static photos.
And here is the piece I created using my favourite photos of Tamsin:
I like how the merging of photos creates an image that shows a fusion of Tamsin’s personalities. We have a centre photo of her being bashful, confident on the right and shows attitude on the left. This image reflects how, as human beings, we have different attributes that make up our full persona.
